Edison Elementary School
1350 Hobson Street
Walla Walla, WA  99362

Project Description

The new school is a 65,000 square foot two story building to be built on land purchased by the School District adjacent to the existing school site.  After the new school is completed, the existing school building will be demolished and that area will become the playground for the new school.  The new school will have CMU walls in the gymnasium and stucco and brick veneer on the remainder of the building.  Portions of the building will have curved metal roofs and the rest will be conventional built-up roofing with parapets.  The building will have common areas, an outdoor reading area and an outdoor classroom near Mill Creek at the edge of the property.  The new building will be done by the summer of 2009 and the old school will be demolished by October of 2009.  The old school site will be hydroseeded and available as the playground area in the spring of 2010.
