The Arrowhead Travel Plaza is located on the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation outside of Pendleton, Oregon.
The project consisted of building a new Convenience Store with an attached McDonald's Restaurant, Truck and Auto Fueling Islands, Certified Truck Scale, RV Dump Station and over 9 acres of Truck and Auto parking. The existing Truck Stop was not torn down until the new facility was operational. This created a challenge to keep the existing facility open while building the new one to the north of the existing one.
The building contains over 20,000 square feet including the C-Store, bathrooms, shower rooms, TV viewing area, telephone booths and laundry facilities, offices and the McDonald's. The facility was completed in approximately 8 months. The existing facilities were torn down and the parking lot completed in the next three months.
