During Completion of Design Phase, CCC aided with significant value engineering to ensure that the project was able to be built.
Located in the heart of Kennewick, St. Joseph's Catholic Church adds a great look to the community. The impressive high ceilings with gorgeous exposed glue-laminated trusses make this a show place compared to any building in the Tri-Cities area.
The main portion of the church is approximate 17,000 SF and the multi-purpose room located on the backside is about 12,000 SF. This project was very challenging to build due to the height of the 62' roof structure, and the different angles, curves and slopes of the building.
It was constructed of wood wall framing, wood truss roof framing, CMU structural shear walls, and the multi-purpose room is pre-engineered metal building.
The striking image of the 24ft cross, and the large lighted parking area, fully landscaped, makes this a beautifully finished project. Chervenell Construction Company was presented with "The Project of the Year" award, by the Tri-City Construction Council for this project in 2002.
