Project Description The new Sunset Elementary School is located in the playfields between the existing Armand Larive Middle School and existing Sunset Elementary just east of Highway 395 in Hermiston, OR. This new one story, 62,000 square foot facility on 19 acres will provide the students of Sunset with an oversized gymnasium, 29 classrooms, playfields and up to date technology. The majority of the structure consists of wood framing and masonry, with structural steel in the gymnasium. The building construction will take approximately 13 months, with the demolition of the existing schools to take place through fall of 2011.
